Portfolio Manager

MARK MCADAM is a Portfolio Manager at R N Croft Financial, which he joined in 2013.

Mr. McAdam is the Lead Portfolio Manager for the CFG Custom Portfolio Corporation – Income Share Class, where he is responsible for portfolio construction, security selection, risk management, and ongoing oversight of income-generating strategies. The mandate focuses on delivering a stable stream of tax-efficient income with moderate, reliable capital growth through a well-diversified portfolio spanning Canadian, U.S., and select international equities, fixed income, and alternative income strategies.

Mark also serves as Lead Portfolio Manager for the CFG Customized Separately Managed Account (SMA) program, where he oversees the design and implementation of tailored portfolios built around high-conviction securities, specialized pools, and option strategies. The SMA platform is structured to provide investors with enhanced control over tax outcomes, liquidity, and security-level ownership, while maintaining disciplined portfolio construction and risk management standards.

An options market specialist, Mark has deep expertise in tax-efficient income generation through option writing strategies, including covered calls, cash-secured puts, and structured option overlays. These strategies are deployed across both pooled and SMA mandates to enhance income, manage volatility, and improve after-tax outcomes for clients.

In addition to his portfolio management responsibilities, Mark is a member of the Investment Review Committee, contributing to firm-wide investment policy, strategy evaluation, and risk oversight.

Prior to joining Croft, Mark co-owned an international textiles firm, where he successfully restructured operations and led the expansion of the business across multiple markets—experience that informs his disciplined, business-owner approach to investing.

Mark holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) from Ryerson University and is a CFA Charterholder. He is a member of both the CFA Institute and CFA Society Toronto.
