Richard Orrell
Richard Orrell is a Portfolio Manager with Croft Financial Group (CFG) and a member of the Investment Review Committee (IRC). As a Portfolio Manager, Richard provides discretionary investment advice to individual and institutional clients on the Croft platform. In addition, Richard provides ongoing advisor and client relationship support through the facilitation of onboarding and KYC update calls along with client cash management and rebalancing responsibilities.
Richard has held many different positions across a variety of financial institutions including 7 years as lead quantitative strategist at a proprietary trading firm involved in high frequency arbitrage trading. Richard now uses his experience and knowledge across financial markets to help clients achieve their goals by understanding what is their why.
Richard attended the University of Waterloo Co-op Program, earning a Bachelor of Mathematics with a minor in Business Administration – Systems Management. In addition, Richard attained his Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation in 2016.
Originally from Waterloo, Richard has lived in Toronto and Barbados prior to spending the last 12 years in Pickering. Richard lives with his partner, Courtney and two daughters. Richard enjoys volunteering his time to coach soccer with the Pickering Football Club. When Richard isn’t researching investment opportunities or building financial plans, you’ll find him trail riding in Durham Forest, providing Dad Uber services or barbequing on his Big Green Egg.
